Bought the boat two weeks ago, still have to pinch ourselves that we actually have a Mexico-capable vessel - a Catalina 42, with three berths the better to keep the boys apart. After a lifetime of sailing on small keelboats, this is "a lot of boat". Pretty overwhelming at first - we took her out of the slip and tried out turning in a fairway, prop-walk, hooked up the GPS, rolled out the jib and worked the auto-helm. Man, she goes upwind with jib only like a champ - I could get used to this!
Tomorrow we bring her from Brisbane to her sweet spot across the channel from RYC's cranes and guest dock, where my "little boat" hangs out. Thank you Pete and Jean for choosing us to be Neener's next family, and thank you Carter and Nancy for renting us your perfect spot across from the club.
Hi Patti, you look so happy and lovely- nice shot. Happy sailing!
